Do ethics matter?

October 2004 - Do ethics matter? This election campaign has seen "trust" pitted against "truth", but in a materialistic, post-modern and post-Christian society do Australians really care about right and wrong? Do we have the tools to make ethical judgements any more? If an ethical society is important, how can we do better than we do now? What structures do we need in place? What role do values have to play at school? What is the place of laws and regulations?
