I am starting a new movement to draft Penny Wong for the prime ministership of Australia.
Asian, female and gay, and extremely competent, she would put Australia as the leading nation on the world map. Even Anthony Albanese would give up his power to Wong to ensure his party stayed in power.
There have been rumblings that Labor might lose the next election ,but not with Wong,

To make Penny Wong our Prime Minister would bring great benefits to Australia and the world, as I assert below.
Several surveys have consistently found Wong to be the most trusted politician in Australia. One survey found her the most trusted while Peter Dutton was the most distrusted. Although the most distrusted, it does appear that the Coalition will win the next election: New-poll-spells-bad-news-for-anthony-albanese
What are Penny Wong's political positions?
Climate Change and the Pacific
Wong has advocated for Australia to play a greater role in the Pacific region in light of the changing strategic circumstances around the globe. She labelled the Morrison government's failure to prevent China's security deal with the Solomon Islands as "the worst failure for Australian foreign policy in the Pacific since the end of World War II".
Donald Trump
Penny Wong"s assessment of the United States president appears set to generate further scrutiny over how our government will navigate one of the nation's most important international relationships.
A bewildering wave has propelled Trump back into the White House for a second term, with Republicans also picking up control of the US senate and looking on course for a potential clean sweep by securing the house.

The result has seen nations around the world scramble to prepare for a second Trump presidency, as allies and adversaries alike also begin diplomatic efforts in order to shore up ties. Wong will handle a likely difficult relationship with competence
Violence against women
On Twitter she said:
Today, we mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.1 in 3 women around the world experience sexual and gender-based violence in their lifetime.
It is a stark reminder of our collective responsibility to end the scourge of gender-based violence.
Race relations
Penny Wong's brother Toby took his own life 10 days after his 30th birthday, which was also the day on which she was elected to the senate in 2001.
Ms Wong had stated her brother was also the victim of bullying due to his heritage, paying tribute to him in her maiden speech in parliament.
She also spoke on the Israel Hamas Warat the Australian National University recently, from a prepared speech, Wong said her government was contemplating recognising Palestinian statehood. She faced criticism from Jewish leaders.
Wong has long advocated a two-state solution to this conflict, as have most of the world's leaders. Albanese has also advocated for a two-state solutionbut it has proved notoriously difficult.
She used a visit to Israel to tell the Netanyahu government that Australians have strong concerns about the high numbers of civilian deaths in Gaza, urging Israel to take steps towards a ceasefire.
As well as meetings with Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz and President Isaac Herzog in Jerusalem, Wong held an emotional hour-long encounter with the families of Israeli hostages being held in Gaza.
Russian invasion of Ukraine
Penny Wong 's position is clear: all Australians stand with the people of Ukraine, and are united in condemnation of Russia's shameful act of aggression.
This attack is wholly unprovoked and without justification. Russia alone is the aggressor, and Russia alone bears responsibility for the bloodshed and suffering that will follow.

Wong lives in Adelaide with her partner, Sophie Allouache and their two children. She was a supporter of the legalisation of same sex marriage, memorably shedding tears in parliament when the 'Yes' result of the plebiscite was revealed.
Her position in the senate would normally rule her out as a potential prime minister.
While there is no rule against the prime minister being a senator, anyone elected to the role traditionally sits in the lower house where government is formed. It would seem that the desirable option would be to stand for and win a lower house seat in Adelaide, but she could stay in the senate, have her cabinet meetings, and leave Richard Marles - always competent – to handle question time.
I have one last task for Penny Wong. She might even be able to do this as Foreign Minister – to end the ceaseless cycle of war that has plagued the human race since the beginning of recorded history. It, warfare, is built into our genetic makeup. We can never stop it, but we can make the United Nations more effective in stopping war.
The Preamble of the Charter of the United Nations states that it was established to "save succeeding generations from the scourge of war." Article 33 of the Charter of the United Nations provides that the UN seeks solutions to conflict. The Security Council is the organ with primary responsibility, under the United Nations Charter. The Charter gives the Security Council primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security. The United Nations has been notoriously ineffective in stopping war. This opinion writer has written about it.
Penny Wong can start the process of urging the five founding Nations to give up their vetoes, The five permanent members of the Security Council (commonly referred to as the "P5") have a veto power, which can prevent UN action when they have engaged in wrongdoing. Russia has used its veto power to escape many UN resolutions.
Second is to offer Australian troops as permanent peace keeping forces.UN peacekeepers have been accused of many transgressions.
This is just a start. Maybe the world may be able to end the scourge of war. I urge Penny Wong to initiate a start
