A world of work

By David Hale - posted Thursday, 11 June 2020

Campaigning for more unskilled jobs to be created. As there has been a significant decline in unskilled jobs, in countries like Australia. Yes, this was long before the pandemic.

It also means providing the same kind of health funding that is going to COVID-19, to other health matters. Ill health and disability are big causes of unemployment or infrequent employment.

TB is a highly contagious disease that kills more than one million people per year. There is a shortfall in funding, a few billion dollars, that needs to be addressed.

The Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria could certainly do with more than 4 billion per year.

The Asian Development Bank could do with some extra funds. They received less than 3.5 billion from donors for the 2017-2020 replenishment period.

The Asian Development fund and bank provide grants and loans to Asian countries. Providing funds that can be used to create more, and better employment for people.

The Australian government basically needs to increase foreign aid to these organizations.

In Australia, we could bring in more temporary and permanent migrants.  Helping people from low income countries get jobs and better paying jobs.

A world of work for everyone.
