Nevertheless, if real adventure is not an option, then to consolidate what one has, and let others become the excessive workers and excessive spenders that an economy based on excessive consumption requires, will always be an option.

Some readers may wonder what Dot looked like. She had high cheek bones, a flashing white smile and brilliant pale blue eyes set in what seemed to be a permanently tanned face. That was when I walked with her when she was aged 60. She must have been a very attractive young woman.
