Iraqis need safe refuge

By Jeff Sparrow - posted Thursday, 16 August 2007

By offering asylum, we could provide that “bit of hope” to the people of Saydia and elsewhere while protecting ourselves from future terrorist threats. Furthermore, those Iraqis already in Australia are an immigration success story.

It’s a slam-dunk, as someone once said.

So will the commentariat shrill as loudly for resettlement as it once did for invasion?
