Most new parties face the great difficulty of acquiring money. For the Teals that looks to be the easy part. Setting up an administration and even agreeing a basic policy platform would be challenging but not impossible, even with the egos of the people involved.
The real challenge would be in making the mental transition from free spirited independent to party member accepting decisions made by elected leaders or majority votes.
The reward would be greater impact and influence. And a much more involving and challenging working life.

Given the Liberal Party’s apparent death-wish it is not impossible that the Teals, if they did form a party and worked smart on policy and politics, could become the official Opposition at the next election. After that anything could happen.
Or, if that is all too hard, as the next election approaches they may think long and hard about saying, “Well, that was fun”, and getting back to their old lives. They could completely vanish at the next election and be remembered solely for their work in removing Scot Morrison.
These decisions could be the most interesting they will make this parliamentary term.
