A Bill of Rights for Australia?
Debate over the need for an Australian Bill of Rights has been occurring since before Federation. However, the passing of a legislative statement of human rights through the UK and New Zealand parliaments has left us as the only Western nation without one. This series of articles examines the issues: does Australia need a Bill of Rights and, if so, what form should it take - legislative or constitutionally enshrined?
