Perish the thought.
She stated that, "in the world we try to help to build - in the civilisation we want to persist and prevail - the United States has a unique role. In Australia, there is no argument whatever about that proposition."
The reader should note that these words were spoken in the presence of John Negroponte. It was Negroponte who oversaw the Reagan administration's vicious proxy wars in Central America, which included the brutal slaying of nuns. Gillard even went so far as to say that it was a "pleasure" to speak in Negroponte's presence.

To get the flavour of this imagine Bonhoeffer expressing his pleasure at being graced by the company of Reinhard Heydrich. We should recall that Heydrich claimed to be defending civilisation.
So, what's the bottom line here?
The bottom line is that Julia Gillard appears to have no beef with violently denying Afghan women the lives of their children so long as it is done in the interests of the rich and powerful.
If, however, trivial levels of violence, that do not even measure on the Richter Scale in comparison, are conducted without the blessing of the rich and powerful this is to be fulsomely condemned.
I submit that makes Julia Gillard a hypocrite.
