The making of culture

By Kausar Khan - posted Tuesday, 2 September 2025

Toward a culture of ethics

Institutions can provoke envy, exploitation, or alienation. But they can also foster cooperation if grounded in fair principles that people accept as legitimate. In Pakistan, the work of embedding ethics into institutions may feel monumental. But it is also urgent.

The culture we make today - whether one of tolerance or corruption, inclusion or exclusion - shapes the society we will inhabit tomorrow. If ethics is woven into daily life, our collective fabric might yet be stitched with integrity.
