They are not ‘peace’ activists

By Graham Young - posted Wednesday, 18 September 2024

In the age of the Internet and globalisation, national borders are porous to people, ideas and communications as never before. While there have always been fifth columns and nests of dissidents in countries, they have been hard to grow to critical mass in the past. Now they can metastasise much more easily.

For any international player, the art of war is not to go to battle, but to degrade your enemies to the point where they have no choice to surrender or become vassal states. Or help them to degrade themselves.

That's why Russia has financed anti-fracking campaigns in the West – it's good geopolitics and has the side effect of being good for business.

The Chinese CCP has long used their own nationals living abroad, or subverted academics, to steal intellectual property, and there is evidence of CCP influence during elections all over the Anglosphere including Canada, the USA and here, in Australia.

So the riots in Melbourne ought to be a wake-up call.

These people are not all deluded fools, and this is not just some happenstance event triggered by an arms fair in the middle of a Middle Eastern war – it is confirmed enemy action and we need to take appropriate steps.

Describing it correctly is the first thing to be done. When you have a cancer pretending it is benign is a mistake and will only make you ill.

There ought to be severe penalties for wrongdoers. Undoubtedly there are some who were along just for the dopamine hit who amplify the effects of those with an agenda. Some stiff legal retribution might convince them to stay at home.

While there is a downside to incarceration, there is a greater one to just shrugging shoulders.

We need to use this, and similar disruptions, like Black Lives Matter and Extinction Rebellion to resurrect civilisational pride and understand that truth is not relative, and that, when it comes to defending what we have there is right and wrong.

And finally we need to recognise the political parties that act as their beachhead into our representative democracy.

They've given the game away by aligning themselves with the 'war by other means' and 'tear down Western Civilisation' crowd today, by siding with the demonstrators against the police.
