From New York to Perth

By Jo Vallentine - posted Friday, 28 October 2016

So my work here, along with various Non-Government organisations from different countries, is to speak with delegations, urging them to resist last-minute bullying by NWS seeking to get them to change their vote, and to remind them of the importance of actually being in the chamber when the vote occurs.

That L.41 will pass is not really in doubt. But it needs to be strongly supported, so that when the drafting the treaty is worked on from February 2017, there will be no back-sliding.

NWS are on notice that their precious, strategically advantageous nuclear weapons will be outlawed. They will beconme pariah states if they continue to insist on their right to threatena the world with nuclear weapons.

And they don't like it one little bit!
