Santa should bring Sandilands the sack

By Elizabeth Lakey - posted Thursday, 24 November 2011

Questions about Sandilands' pathology have been floating around for a long while. But he remains in the employ of Austereo. Behaviour that would earn a teenager suspension from school, earns Sandilands a pay rise. He leaves bruised and battered victims in his wake; some celebrities, some journalists and some children.

This must change. Austereo is out of tune with what is acceptable to us as entertainment consumers. We must send the message that we recognise Sandilands' words for what they are - vitriolic, oppressive and offensive drivel. It is an indictment on our society that we have allowed such a small and poisonous man become an entertainment icon.

Please file a complaint at the Austereo website. Print extra forms and ask your brothers and sisters, your neighbours and work colleagues to do the same. Only then can the ACMA launch an enquiry into Sandilands on-air behaviour, and only then will we be spared more of vitriol dressed up as entertainment.
