I particularly like the chapter on the various forms of stress, their origins and the impact they have for better and worse in our lives. In understanding all of this we are armed with the knowledge to facilitate change.
In the follow up book Managing yourself and others Phil makes the point that "I believe business is a microcosm of life. The principles are the same".
The book then looks at the kinds of issues that businesses and individuals regularly confront. Chief among them are: understanding staff and clients, communications, self-motivation, time managements and dealing with difficult staff and clients.

There is more - much more- and all the result of Dr Jauncey's unequalled knowledge of theory which has been crafted, honed and personalized by a lifetime of practical experience in all fields of endeavour. His chapter on Time Management (and enhancement) has the potential to change your life in the ten minutes it take to browse and digest.
Whilst Phil has become very well known by virtue of his association with the best of our athletes, the things he has talked about with them has also been shared with students and many of our most successful business people.
The level of respect he has earned reflects well on the man and the story he has to tell. These two books will enrich and empower all who take the time to read them.
This review was prompted by the recent release of a completely revised edition of Understanding ourselves and others available through the publishers, CopyRight Publishing (Dr Phil is on the celebrity speaking circuit). A quick Google of his name brings up an impressive list of his activities and achievements - a living tribute to "the power of positive doing".
