Fertility and families
Following the federal government's Intergenerational Report, several questions have arisen over how to arrest Australia's falling fertility rate. Some maintain that improving the lot of working mothers would encourage them to have more children. Others say the workplace is no place for mothers - they should be at home. Still others argue that increasing population is not sustainable, and wonder what the problem really is.
