Does business have social obligations?
There has been a lot of attention paid lately to issues of corporate failure and the costs of "globalisation". But what are businesses' obligations to the rest of society? Do they have any duty to ensure citizens' rights, or can they simply pursue profits regardless of the effect of their activities? This feature presents a few views of the issue that show the most likely answer to be somewhere in between these extremes.
