Editors' Resources
This area contains a set of tools for editors and authors.
There will be an editorial guidelines document, which will detail how to use our editing suite, this is still under development.
Checking the Fundamentals gives plenty of handy hints on punctuation, spacing and so on. So for all of you who insist on putting two spaces after each full stop - don't!
Towards a Working Grammar gives some basic tips on the use of capitals, italics, grammar and so forth. For example a very common error is in the use of quotation marks. (Always use doubles unless it is a quote within a quote.)
Our house style is the News Limited style (which is available in book form called Style: A guide for journalists published by Nationwide News Ltd). We generally use the English spellings for words: colour, labelled etc, unless it is in a quotation or is the formal name for something (eg Australia's Antarctic Program).
You might find it useful to print out these documents to keep as a resource.
