Peter Wigg
Peter Wigg is a psychiatrist working in private practice in
Melbourne, mainly with young people suffering the effects of
psychological trauma. He has also done humanitarian medical work
overseas, including in Papua New Guinea where he was held up at gun
point on two separate occasions during the course of his work there. Peter
has also worked in the Middle East treating victims of armed conflicts
there and is a member of the Medical Association for Prevention of War,
an Australia-wide association of doctors and other health professionals
who regard armed conflict as a major global health problem, and who
advocate the exploration of alternatives to military intervention in
addressing international conflict.
