Khan is chairman of the economics department at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, and former senior advisor to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the first democratically-elected president of Pakistan. Dr Khan earned both BA and MA from Punjab University in Lahore, and a PhD from Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany
