Phil Playford

Phil Playford was born and grew up in Western Australia. He holds degrees in geology from the University of WA (BSc and Honorary DSc) and Stanford University (PhD).

Phil has been employed in both Government and Industry and is a former Director of the Geological Survey of WA. He is the author of many publications, has received many awards, and is a Member of the Order of Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.

He is currently an Honorary Associate of the Geological Survey and an Adjunct Professor at Notre Dame University.
