The pro-life movement in the USA has been galvanised and Planned Parenthood Federation of America left scurrying for cover following the release in mid-July by David Daleidin of the Centre for Medical Progress of a video showing Dr. Deborah Nucatola, head of PPFA's Medical services Department, describing how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted babies and admitting she uses partial-birth abortions (a procedure illegal in the USA) to supply intact body parts. Nucatola has overseen medical practice at all Planned Parenthood locations since 2009. She also trains new Planned Parenthood abortion doctors and performs abortions herself at Planned Parenthood Los Angeles up to 24 weeks gestation.
A second video has been released showing another top Planned Parenthood official discussing and arranging the sale of body parts of aborted babies.
In the first video, Dr. Nucatola is at a business lunch with actors posing as buyers from a biotech company. She is eating salad and drinking red wine while she discusses the sale of babies' body parts and describes how the heads of unborn babies command top dollar. Nucatola admits that Planned Parenthood charges per-specimen for baby body parts, uses partial-birth abortion procedures in order to get saleable parts, is aware of the liability for doing so and takes steps to cover it up.
Dr. Nucatola also describes how the abortion procedure is modified to provide the baby part that is ordered, you know like when you order chicken liver or a leg of lamb, well Planned Parenthood abortionists put their "graspers" under ultrasound guidance so they can select that part of the baby and not damage it in the process of aborting the baby. And when the head is required, some abortionists change the presentation so that it is breech delivery (could be more painful and hazardous for the mother, let alone what the baby suffers) but the abortionist gets an intact head at the end.
Dr. Nucatola not only makes a big salary from Planned Parenthood (about $US150,000 - $200,000) but she runs a consulting business on the side. Via that consulting firm, Deborah Nucatola made another $US207,000 in 2007, according to Internal Revenue Service records.
The second video shows Dr. Mary Gatter, a senior Planned Parenthood director, also discussing and arranging the sale of body parts of aborted babies. In what is sure to become the most-quoted line from the video, Gatter jokes that she "want[s] a Lamborghini," but she immediately says, "No," and laughs, apparently at the idea of making money off the practice. She discusses the pricing of aborted baby body parts - telling the biotech company officials that the prices for such things as a baby's liver, head or heart are negotiable. Like Nucatola, Gatter also tells the officials that she could talk with the Planned Parenthood abortion practitioners to potentially alter the abortion procedure to kill the baby in a way that would best preserve those body parts while the baby is aborted.
In the wake of the two videos showing top Planned Parenthood doctors arranging the sale of body parts from aborted babies, the US Senate will vote soon on legislation that would de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business. A total of nine states have already launched an investigation into Planned Parenthood, including Massachusetts, Kansas, Missouri, Arizona, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Texas and Louisiana and members of Congress have launched an investigation as well.
David Daleiden of CMP said to legislators "For the first time, all of the American public, and the whole world, is getting to see the truth about Planned Parenthood's abortion services. There is a lot more to come, there are lots more videos and between l00-200 pages of documents from Planned Parenthood and its proxies which CMP will soon release".
Asked if the videos proved profit-making from selling baby parts, he said "Oh yeah, it's pure profit." A "high volume" abortion clinic can "easily make" $US120,000 a year, he said. "They'll never admit it's for profit but if you look at how the business is sustained it's clear." Daleiden gave graphic details of late-term abortions, dismemberment and fetal tissue, including kidneys and brains, being implanted into laboratory rats. "A lot of frankly Frankenstein stuff."
Theresa Deisher who holds a Ph.D in molecular and cellular physiology from Stanford University helped to prepare Daleiden for his role as a biomedical representative, teaching him the ins and outs of the field. Whether the babies are born alive is a crucial question, according to Deisher. "In order to get good heart tissue, it has to be processed within five minutes of death. I bet the gruesome fact is that many of those babies are alive when they are harvested."
She also noted that Nucatola talks about going for the calvarian - the top of the head. "They can't get that with the head inside, so is the baby alive when they collect it?"
Republican Presidential candidates including Ted Cruz and Ben Carson, former Governors Rick Perry (Texas) and Mike Huckabee (Arkansas) as well as Senator Rand Paul have all called for the de-funding of Planned Parenthood. This is in addition to the investigations launched by several states as mentioned above. The US Congressional Inquiry may have to subpoena Deborah Nutacola who seems a trifle reluctant about answering questions. She has deleted her Twitter account.
