It’s a real disappointment on so many fronts. The government seems to be putting a disproportionate amount of taxpayer funds towards two serious yet comparatively minor issues.
The first is asylum seekers erroneously referred to as boat people, a large amount of resources have been put into stopping their arrival in Australian waters. Yet, there are over 10000 illegals currently roaming freely amongst our community here in Australia who have over-stayed their visas yet nowhere near the same amount of funds are being spent to round them up.
The second issue, is terrorism, and yes, it is an important and urgent matter that cannot be neglected and for all intents and purposes, both law enforcement and community are putting a tremendous amount of effort into addressing it. However, when we are talking about violence that terrorises the Australian public, where does it stand in comparison to violent rape, which terrorizes women every day and Domestic Violence which is at an epidemic level, with over 100000 cases reported in Victoria alone and a further 100000 in NSW? This is the real terrorism.

But championing the rights of victims of domestic violence is not going to get Tony Abbott re-elected, but keeping Australians safe from crazy Muslims will.
We had to wait 800 years for this great era in Australian legal developments, creating a society where men and women are equal before the law, unless you are Muslim; where we can all go about our own business free from surveillance and spying unless you are Muslim; where we can place our heads on the pillow at night, assured that we will sleep well, unless you are…yes, you are dreaming to strike fear into the hearts of the nation while planning to dominate the world, as Muslims tend to do.
I have to hand it to Brother George Orwell, how did he know that the Magna Carta would be reduced to meaningless wallpaper that decorates the walls of Parliament House? Money well spent. And how did he know that, one day, in 1984, that we would be turned into a police state? What a visionary, albeit he missed by about three decades, it has now come true and apparently it is here to stay.
